How To Profit From Tattooing: Expand Your Existing Customer Base

Posted on: August 6th, 2013 by Hayley James No Comments

profitable tattoo business is to have a steady stream of paying customers on a regular basis. These interested parties can be your existing customer base or new ones.

If you want to make more money from tattoo business, keep your existing clients coming back for more but you should be on the lookout for new customers and expanding your existing customer base.

Here are some strategies for expanding and keeping your customer base growing:

1. Find your niche.

Specify your niche and get to know it better.  Ask yourself some of these crucial questions:

  • Who is my ideal customer?
  • What do theywant/like/need?
  • What can I offer them?

Knowing the answers to these questions will give you a steady foundation in expanding your customer base, attaining new customers and profit from tattooing.

2. Use the power of networking.

Connect with people in your industry. Use social media platforms. Blog and share a great content, tweet interesting things about your business (re-tweeting others tweets are also helpful), comment and like updates in Facebook. You can expand your reach through online activities. And these social media platforms are easily-accessible nowadays.  It can help you profile your company as well as present a venue to new and potential new customers.

Offline—socialize and pitch your tattooing business to engage new people. Attend business functions and trade shows. Join groups. This is not only a key to networking but also showcasing your skills. More often than not, this is also a great opportunity for you to have access to training and upgrading in your tattooing business.

Word of advice— never fail to prepare your portfolio and your business cards.

Engage… network…build relationships.

3. Don't fail to update yourself with the latest trend in your industry.

As I have already mentioned, keep your existing customer base interested. And you can do this if you, yourself, are updated with the latest. Then, don't forget to share your knowledge. Offer them the current trends. Give them great content like what’s coming up in the tattooing industry, what’s in and what's out. Your customers will view you as an authority and as a leader in your field.

And what good will this do to expand your customer base?  You can leverage on these existing customers. There’s nothing like word-of-mouth marketing and havingyour existing clientstalk about you and your business. They can be your partners in increasing your customer base.

You might be amazed at the referrals that will come your way. Think about it – all of the marketing has already been done for you with your existing customer base likely giving the thumbs up about your business. They are already “sold” your value and all you have to do is close the deal.

4. Offer freebies, rewards and incentives

Who doesn't want freebies? Take advantage of the fact that people love free stuff, discounts, rewards and incentives. Utilise these to get new customers in the door. For instance, you can offer an introductory price with a 50% off the original price. Or you can use coupon codes to slash off from the regular price to give them big savings.  However, don't rely too much on this strategy. While people may be enticed to get in, your service and products need to be really great for them to stay. Your end goal is to expand your customer base. You are not in it for one-timer customers, right?

5. Showcase your expertise.

Blog about your expertise. Take pictures of your designs and share them. Take every opportunity where you can pitch your craft. Don't be shy about sharing your expertise and letting the world know about it. You are your first customer. Therefore, you must believe in what you are selling.

Before you know it, people will be lining up your door to sign up for your services. But remember, time is your ally. Anything that endures needs time. Persevere and in time see your tattooing business achieve the success you have always dreamed of.

Your Dream Tattoo Design Can Start Small!

Posted on: March 27th, 2013 by Hayley James No Comments

Tattoo Designs
You have a basic idea for your tattoo design but you may have something small in mind. Don't worry because you can always have it tattooed then come back later and have more added on.  That is one of the best things about small tattoos – they can always be added to later.  This can be a great thing if you want to try a smaller tattoo first, and then decide whether or not you want to get it bigger.  If you start with a fraction of your dream design, you can always finish it up later on.

Whatever tattoo design you choose, your dream design should be very important, and hold meaning.  This way, every time you look at it – you’ll be reminded of that special moment in time and you’ll never forget about your first tattoo.
